The Best Way to Clean Your Car
Your car needs cleaning from time to time. This is not just because you want your car to look new, but it is also necessary to keep it in good condition. You don’t have to bring your vehicle to a car wash all the time. A good cleaning can start with you at home.
Steps to Cleaning Your Car
If this is your first time cleaning your car, you are in luck. There are a few steps that you can follow. Take note that you should schedule your cleaning either early in the morning or at night to minimize exposure to the sun that can dry the soap and water on your vehicle quickly.
- Start with the Wheels.
Since the wheels are constantly exposed to the road, this will be one of the dirtiest parts of your car that you need to clean. You need to invest in a hose with a nozzle to get a good pressure to blast the build-up on your wheels. Do not forget to direct the nozzle at the undercarriage of your vehicle since the brake dust, dirt, and other debris can get stuck here as well.
It is always a good idea to use cleaning supplies that are designed specifically for the wheels. You don’t want to end up damaging your wheels because you did not read the fine print. Don’t forget that the cleaning materials you used to clean your wheels, like your mitt or cloth, should not be used anywhere else.
- Prep and Lather.
Spray your car with water to help remove any dirt, dust, or debris that are clinging to its surface. Point the nozzle on the cracks and crevices of your vehicle where they can get to. You need to have two buckets. One is filled with soapy water, and the other just plain water. Again, look for a cleaning product that is appropriate for your vehicle. Do not use regular dishwashing soap as it may damage your car’s paint.
Dunk your mitt or cloth on the soapy water, then wipe the roof of the car with it. Work in sections. Do not rub or scrub any buildup since it may scratch your vehicle. Make sure that you rinse your cloth thoroughly before using it to wipe your car.
- Start Rinsing.
After you have finished soaping your car and getting rid of the buildup safely, remove the nozzle from your hose and thoroughly wash your vehicle. Again, you will need to start at the top of your car then work your way down.
Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down your vehicle. Do not use any other types of cloth since they may damage your car. Squeeze the cloth to remove excess water and continue until your car is dry.
This may sound like a tedious process, but it does beat having to spend a lot in the car wash. You just need to find the right chemical supplier of car care cleaning products in the Philippines to provide you with car-approved cleaning agents so you can give your car a thorough cleaning.
